Adam was away the other week in Western Australia. For work and play. He had a conference for work but was also able to catch up with some relatives he hasn't seen in a long time. He loved it, loved seeing his rellies and took some great shots of the scenery.
He also fell in love with Fremantle and the old buildings. Being the kind and considerate fiance he is, he brought home this present for me. Isn't it lovely? And the building even has the year 1983 on it! My birth year!
Speaking of presents we have also received our first wedding present! We know what is in there and are trying to wait until closer to the wedding before we open it. Want a hint? It is a trilogy...thanks Mum, we can't wait to sit down and have a day of watching!
We have also been getting a few RSVPs back. With all these people confirming their presence (get it presents and presence ;) ) the whole thing is starting to feel real and exciting. Four months to go!
And finally (nothing to do with presents or presence) a few shots from our beach walk today. I know, I know, but when the beach is so close to us and so beautiful you have to put up with a few more yet. Enjoy!

Guess what?
Remember this post? And remember how I mentioned that I would keep you updated with a monthly clue? Have you noticed the lack of clue-a-month posts?
Well the reason is that the information has been leaked. It wasn't because of my persistent nagging, and not even because of Adam's excitment. No, the reason was a simple slip up. Adam said "don't look in the bag because the Italy books are in there." And that was that, the secret was out...we are going to ITALY! We both pretended for a while that I might not know, that I heard the wrong place. Eventually we had to admit defeat and get on with being excited. Can you believe three whole weeks in Italy!! I cannot wait.
It was still a good surrprise, an excellent, superduper, awesome surprise. It wasn't even one of the places we had considered...so Adam has done very well to plan and scheme.
We are going to Rome, Tuscany, the Dolomites, Venice, Milan. We are going to eat pizza, pasta and lots of gelato. We are going to see all the historical splendour, the culture, the art. And we are going to be doing it as Mr and Mrs!

wedding bits and bobs
I have just been in Queensland for a fly in fly out visit. Yes, believe me it was very quick! And the reason? A wedding dress fitting! My dress is being made in Queensland by a very cool elderly lady. It is actually quite fun having her as my seamstress, even though I don't get to have many fittings because of distance. Getting changed in her old bedroom, looking in her old dressing table mirror, surrounded by her old photos; it is cute and feels comfortable. The dress is looking good but of course no sneak peeks are allowed!
So I am back in the wedding mood. A little more planning and dreaming has been happening. Which brings me to these shoes, how funky is this? I am loving the idea of green shoes for the bride. All my bridesmaids have been instructed to buy their own choice of shoes in any colour they like. So here is an example for you girls, I wish we could all go shopping together for them.
Also there is the matter of flowers. Ah, flowers. I have a book on loan from the library full of beautiful flowers. Oh so many choices. I love fluffy, vintage looking bunches and also more modern exotic ones. I love the peonies, the orchids, the tulips, the greenery. I don't think I will ever be able to decide between any of them!
And one more thing, while I am on the subject of the wedding; look what I found in a magazine on loan from the library. It is our bridesmaids dress. Third from the left (still full price!)
Happy dreaming, can't wait to celebrate the wedding with all our friends and family!

To our dearest and most favourite people
Happy Mother's Day!
A bouquet of flowers for you:
and a portrait of some of your best creations to date ;)
Wishing you a relaxing day.
Since moving out of home we realise just how much effort it takes to run a home. Thank you both for all the love, the work and the support you gave while we were growing up, and that you continue to give.
Wish we were there to celebrate with you,
All our love, Denise and Adam

Pro and Con
The negatives: A very long week of work. A messy, messy desk. A lot of long, lonoooong drives to and from work (one evening took just over TWO hours, isn't that ridiculous?!)
The positives: I am finally getting organised at work (despite the chaos that is my desk). Some very nice compliments and words of encouragement. Some fabulous hand sculptures from a bunch of 15 year olds. Feeling more comfortable and settled in. Getting home nice and early on a Friday afternoon. The weekend and tickets for a Jet concert at the Palais Theatre arriving. And some more successful and this time yummier Muesli Bar/Muffins.
Yes, there are definitely a lot more positives!
